if i got a phase unit for my 775 chipset could i easily (and cheaply) modify it for core i7 and possible future chipsets?

is it just a matter of getting a new mounting bracket for the new socket?

cool, but what do you mean by "mod the mounting hardware" ?? you mean create/mod my own bracket to fit whichever socket i'm using?

ps - nice avatar... makes me want to join the folding team lol

It would be dependent on the type of phase unit you bought.

If you bought a stock Vapo or a Mach2, then it would need a new evap (and suction line) to be able to mount on an i7.

If you bought a custom built unit, then it would almost certainly come with the correct mounting for an i7. A second hand custom built unit may just need a new mount, of which there are a number of builders that will sell you one.
