new old folder

hey guys. i joined the folding team a few months ago and only got about 8 wu's deep before i quit because the program was giving me problems and my windows installation was a bit unstable. well i downloaded the program for linux that runs in the terminal and i've started it running again for the past couple nights when i've been sleeping.

i've noticed that it seems to spit wu's out a lot faster in linux. i guess linux takes better advantage of the processor usage than windows does, or maybe its just my imagination. 16 wu's in a couple nights isn't bad from what i remember in how long it took in windows.

so just telling everone you've got another folder again :)

Glad to have you back. The time difference could be related to what proteins you were folding. I believe that they are doing a test run of some new proteins on the linux ver. only. Fold on!!!

Is the linux client that much faster i might change over!!:)

Actually they are pretty similar now that intel has provided the necessary compiler for linux. If there was a speed increase it was probably related more to the problems that were occurring while running the client under windows.
