I don't think you will get good contact if the Maze4 is just zip tied down.

It covers all of the processor, and I'm sure its not 100% perfect, but it has been working great.

I'm really curious how this looks, because those temps are not bad.

The fact is you never get a good contact with zip ties.

We're you using those hose clamps when the line came off?
mudajama

No. It was a test run. The line came off. Spewed water everywhere since it flows like a garden hose. I pulled the power cord. Sopped up the water with a towel and let it sit on the air vent with the heat on for a day. Hooked it all back up and it worked fine. Then...... It happened. So I super clamped it for insurance. Along with the lines being heat shrunk onto the barbs now.

are you going to cover that res? It'll evaorate sooner or later as well as be exposed to dirt, dust and other contaminants

Good point, didn't think of that. Might as well build a bong cooler if you're going to keep it that way

I still have the old mobo. But I like my new one. It can at least OC. My highest stable OC with the old one was 2.65. OOOOO how amazing. I'll throw the old one in my parts bin. As for the reservoir. I'm going to drastically reduce it's size. Most likely going to use some type of tubing. Like a 3" PVC pipe, caped, drilled with grommets for the in, out, power line. I have no intention of leaving it in such shambles. I'm going to resurrect my old old old win95 machine's case, which I believe was an old Pentium II, and leave all the stickers on it, for that retro feel.

Yeah 41C on water cooling is bad contact... :D

Well its better than what it was before, pushing 60C. In time, I will figure out a better way to mount it.

Well I'm moving in the next few days so I've gone back to air cooling. After 2min of prime. I was at 57C. So I see an improvment

Quick noobie questison, what does the alcohol bath do? What do you when the mobo get wet, is it still useable?

I second that

alcohol evaperates much faster then water. so any water that gets trapped in, say the pci slots, ram, etc. would take months to evaporate out. so when the alcohol mixes with water it will evaporate faster. you dunk it for a couple minutes then take it out use a low heat hair dryer and let it sit, IMO a week before you power it up.

What he said. Sorry, I should have elaborated. BTW there is no guarantee that it will still work but this could possibly bring it back to life. Also you will want to find the purest alcohol possible. (the less water content it has, the better this should work)

Well. I came in the room and smelled that burning electric smell. So...........
That mount looks horrible... I'd never trust it, have a look here for a guide to using an old block on a new board http://63.74.115.230/tips1229/
For the pump I suggest a plastic electrical box, seen here http://members.tripod.com/UnaClocker/watersetup/closedsideview.jpg
This has a gasket in the lid and you should be able to drill and tap it. Good luck with your budget setup, looks good aside from the mount.

Do you know where it's coming from?

I had taken a nap on the couch when it happened. The smell was intermingled with the antifreeze smell, since the board got soaked. No idea

That is a great idea! I wonder who thought of that?

http://members.tripod.com/UnaClocker/water3.html 1st image on that page. You should be able to find a box like that at a hardware store pretty cheap.

Ok new reservoir and new block mount. Cleaned up a bit. I'm gonna run some P95, and I'll post up some temps
Reservoir is now relatively well sealed. (Requires some force to put together)
Block mount is an old light switch plate cutout to go over the block and place even pressure.

Ok about 50 minuets of Prime95. I know its short. But temps are leveled off 20Min in at around 36C. Not bad. I dropped a few degrees. Most likely because of ambient air temp.
