i've been looking at the radeon 8500's on pricewatch for sale, the ones that are around 170 bucks........what's the difference between them and the retail versions? I want to get one for my comp. but i'm wondering whether to go with that or a geforce3ti200.

how are the Oem's different, and.......

what do you recommend, gf3 or ATI?

The retail 8500's all have a core clock speed of 275. But some OEM 8500's have a clock speed of 250.

Personally I would recomment an 8500 right now, it's better visual quality and is just a bit faster than the ti500. It has a few performance problems right now but that can be fixed with drivers.

If money isn't an issue then you can wait for the GeForce 4's that will be announced soon. And the "so-called" specs are amazing. I forget what they are though. I'm sure someone knows them off by heart. :)

the gf4 ti1000 will have a core speed of 300 mhz and a memory speed of 700 mhz....so it should be quite sweet
