something good and something bad for radeon 6011's

the really cool thing is that i can output to the tv now at 1024x768 just like the 7500:D now the bad part is that i can't get my dvd playback to work. not ati dvd nor any other player. gives me a "atimmc.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows" before initializing playback.
if anyone else has experienced this PLEASE help me. dvd is one of the reasons i want a fast computer.

Just today I had to delete the 6011 drivers as the DVD player wouldnt work properly with them.

I even tried the new DVD 5.0 fix

But in the end I just reverted back to the older driver and all was well.

did you notice while you had the 6011's running that you could run tv-out at 1024x768? i liked that so much with my 7500 that when i got the 8500 and couldn't do it anymore i almost sent it back! i got all exicted to be able to run that resolution to the tv again for games and dvds... hopefully it will be fixed by the time ati actually "releases" the drivers if they ever do! i was told by several people that the 8500 wasn't capable of that res for tv-out but it seems that ati was holding out on us!

ATI is to busy to develop new drivers, As they are getting ready to spit out the new card with the R300 chip.....Its a shame they dont put out working drivers like Nvidia :(

ah. sorry about the kinda double thread... kinda meant to kill the other one. any word on when ati may release these drivers officially?
