I really need some help making up my mind for a 3D-card. ATI or GF3-Ti.500? I hear that the GainWard is the best GF3, and I don't know much about the Radeon's. I can really use any info. Thanks

Welcome to the forums! I usually choose my components by what I want to do with them, and price to performance value. ATI's are awesome if you do any video capture/ editing, and they perform really well in games. But if you're a pure gamer, the GF3's are the way to go.

Yeah, agree with crystal here.....but if you look at the 3Dmark 2001 Hall of Fame a Radeon tops it, followed by a bunch of Ti-500:s....
Depends on which price you can get them for, this is a close call.....but I guess most people are better off with a Ti-500...

Most games haven't even caught up to current video cards, so you might consider getting a cheaper model now, and upgrading towards the end of this year, when newer, even better cards hit the scene.
A GF3 Ti 200 could be had for about $180 and can be overclocked to the Ti 500 specs or better.
A GF2 Ti or Ati Radeon 7500 go for around $100 and will run all the games out now just fine.
GF4's will be out by the beginning of summer, and Ati will probably put out a new card this year too.
