changing startup progs?

how do i change what programs start when i boot my comp, i knew how to do it in all previous windows, i just cant find the setting here

If I'm not mistaken, XP also has the MSCONFIG utiltity that Win98 had. I believe this is what you're referring to.

Go to Start-->Run-->type in MSCONFIG and hit enter. You can removed startup programs on the last tab.

there' s also regedit way. I like that because I know all the stuff that starts at boot-up.
It's "local machine\software\microsoft\windows\current version\run"

Just put in a string value with the path.
