850W continuous. Not peak. I don't recommend the Turbocool for anyone who minds loud fans.

There's nothing wrong with going modular.

Lots of Fact 0% Fat!2.5 y.o article...that is horsehooey anyway with any medium quality modular PSU.

sooo resistance doesn't exist? WOOHOO
Anytime you have a connector you have resistance, it my be a little, but you have resistance, the date of the article has no impact on the basic principles of how current flows
and yes i know we have come a LONG way in terms of PS and the quality of there power they put out. but unless you REALLY need that extra space that 4 to 5 extra cables will take up and want to show off your water cooling hoses then yes i say go modular, you will have the cleanest computer innard around and post worthy pics i can drool over

Did you see the connectors on the other end of the cables? The ones that plug into mainboards and peripherals?
The impact of the connector resistance is negligible, and is actually lower than the wires themselves. These units are designed to be within ATX specs to the ends of the cables, and every one I have reviewed (and I've reviewed a lot of them) has not suffered because of it.
Like I said - there's nothing wrong with modular units in general. All the issues presented by PC P&C on their myths page are non issues. In fact, both of PC P&C's own suppliers, Win-Tact and Seasonic, offer modular units.

im sticking to my guns here, the more connectors you have the more resistance.:bang head
btw, thank you for bringing up ATX standards, as we are now up to the latest ATX12V v2.2 that was realeased waaaaaay back in 2004
every brand has an off shoot brand, hell there ocz power supplies have about 90% of there line with multi rails and modular cables.
EDIT: Antec SG-850, ahhhhh i think you mistake my posts as personal attacks. im sorry we are on WAY different sides of the spectrum
OW- multi rails and modular ps
D1D- single rail and non modular ps

I'd take what Oklahoma Wolf has to say seriously, he doesn't test power supplies or anything

negligible + negligible + negligible = not so negligible
Not when the unit stays in spec. You could have several Molex Mini-Fit Juniors plugged together and still not add up to the resistance of the actual wires themselves. While we're at it, let's just cut the ATX connector off and solder the wires down to the mainboard.

Doesn't matter. It's compensated for in the design. It's a non-issue.
D1D- single rail and non modular ps
Single rail... that's another myth that needs popping. I had a car accident today, and I don't need any more elevation to my blood pressure, so I'm checking out of this thread right here. I'll let a friend of mine do the talking in this thread:
http://www.jonnyguru.com//forums/showthread.php?t=3990
Agree or disagree, it's up to you. But you're going to need a whole lot more than PC P&C's myths page to counteract my 21 years in electronics and change my mind.
To the OP - the Infiniti wouldn't be my first choice. The 750W of the Silverstone you mentioned would do it nicely.

Boo,
Nice rig. If you haven't had Velociraptors before, you'll like them. They are much different than the older Raptors. Good luck.

just saying my .02
pc p&c has the best warrenty support i've ever seen, my brother had a 500 watt psu that after 3 years died, he called them up, and they overnighted him a new power supply and a prepaid box to ship the old one back in.
if for no other reason, that why I still buy them, and they are also very nice units, and my 750 is very very quiet.

I've heard nothing but good things about PC P&C customer service... now that's a reason to get one of theirs. Get 'em because they're good units with good support, not because the myths page says there are no other options ;)

another great reason!
if you want a quite PS, get the silencer, and yes some of the non-silencers can be loud

If you want a quiet PSU, PC P&C is the last company one should buy from. You can get actual Seasonic branded units that will hand the Silencers (which are Seasonic anyway) their 80mm fans.
