Got my cele 500@600 back up in the BP6 with 64Mb PC100 cl2 and times are pretty good. 10-11 hours per WU.

I might just have to get a second 500 for that board. Swapped my other one with a buddy a while back when I upgraded cuz dual procs were doing me no good.

Something's a little odd there. My Celly 600 Coppermine can only get about 12 1/2 at best. My dual PIII 500MHz rig can only pull 11 hour WUs at best.

Might want to make sure you're getting times reported correctly and not corrupting anu WUs. Just a heads up...that's way too quick for a 500 Celly.

The chip is rock stable...ran @600 2.3v with this chip for quite some time it has been run in a dual setup at 563 and by itself at 600 previously in this mobo. The BP6 has 440BX chipset with very high memory bandwidth. I have a fresh install of 98SE on an old 2Gb WD drive and nothing else running at all.

Have been up for several days now and all WU's have been in the .4xx to .6xx range. Low time is 10.1 and high time is 11.1 so far

The system is not touched at all except to upload WU's

That is bit on the fast side for a celly @600 but maybe you just ran into some really high angle ranges. I would be sure and check some units for errors though.

Well, I'm not going to complain about it at all.

I just don't understand how it can get that fast of times when I've got PIII 500s on a BX chipset and a 100MHz bus that average only 12h14m after several hundred WUs. It's strictly a cruncher too.

It's just odd, that's all.

my celly 433 @ uni with 128mb of ram running WinNT does WU's in about 16 hours

that does seem maybe a little fast

I'll crunch for a few more days and see what kind of results I get and if there are any errors...it surprised me too since my P3 500 Katami takes anywhere from 11-14 hours per WU...but its on a funky FIC board with Apollo BX chipset

I would have to say it is the memory bandwidth there...what is your processing effiencey? Times are possible with some major tweaking. I have my Celeron 400@450 at 16 hours now. :)

speed is at about 90Mflops instantaneous when its right in the middle of a WU efficiency is about 6.6

EDIT: I also have video bios shadow and similar options disabled in the bios so that seems to help performance especially since I have an old Tseng Labs ISA vid card

I also shadow to R.A.M. I find that it really helps celeron scores/times. Just my 2 cents though.

I got 9.155 hours for a 7.987AR WU over the weekend and my average seems to be about 10.8 hours per WU

This old Cele turned out to be a nice little cruncher
