I would highly reccommend the Logitech Z-560's. 400 watts, thx certified. They're the best value out there, $150-200.

The logitechs are nice... I listened to them at CompUSSR the other day and was pretty impressed, but I didn't know they were that cheap... The Klipsch are very nice THX certified as well, but they'll hit the ceiling of your price limits...
Peace

Klipsch

Expensive, but still the most bang for the buck in either their 2.1, 4.1 or 5.1 sets. You have to hear them to believe them.

Most stores that demo them have the sub cranked so they sound muddy, put the sub knob at about the 11 O'clock position.

They sound as good or better close up than my Infinity home system does at its regular listening distances.

Klipsch 5.1 since your speakers are obviously 5.1 supported and to get the best out of it... *Rubs his hands*..

Klownin: the 4.2 is just two sets of 2.1s with the subwoofers hooked together. some website I saw was talking about doing that. the official products are the Promedia 2.1, 4.1, and 5.1

Tainice: The amps are in the sub. the 5.1 has a separate control fob for some of the volume functions. My 4.1's have the controls mounted to the bottom of one of the satellite speakers.

I cant believe you dont like the way the Klipsch system looks. Very classy in person, it may not convey well from a webpage. It doesnt really matter what they look like anyway. I buy speakers to listen to, not look at. To each their own.

This promedia stuff is about the least expensive audio set that Klipsch makes. Some of their high end professional stuff is well over 10 times that price. Check out their website:

www.klipsch.com

I havent demo'ed the logitechs, but I would have a hard time believing a system like that without separate tweeters will sound as clean as one with separate tweeters, like the Klipsch. But for half the price they could probably have 80% of the sound quality.

I am partial to most other Logitech products, but I havent been able to give the Logitech speakers a test listen yet.

Actually the 5.1 look very good for speakers chromish/grey colour..

And they look way better than a home theatre system as they just have the black pole to hold them up and the speaker themselves gotta love the ProMedia 5.1 :D

Multimedia speaker comparison: Altec Lansing Select 4100, Cambridge SoundWorks FPS1600, Creative Inspire Digital 5700 and Logitech Z-560 (http://www.dansdata.com/speakersets.htm)

More good review stuff from Dan's Data! There is a hefty section on the Z560, they really do seem to be the best value by far out of any spekers availible. I listened to em today, actually- OfficeMax had em for $99 on sale! They were the best sounding set on the display wall, AND one of the cheapest.

If I wasn't such a headpone freak I'd get em.:)

thanks for the inputs guys:) Anyway, comparing my 4100, the rest of the systems are just plain ugle..;) well, since my budge is limited, and i am not a music lunatic in any mean, i will go with z-560. besides, it is the second best looking of thx in my opinion, next to my 4100 of course.:D After all, i still consider myself an artist...

I got the logitechs after Christmas. Wow... thats all I have to say, and for $140, theyre a very good value. Ive only heard the Klipsh system at Best Buy, and it had the radio hooked up, sounded terrible. But I can believe that they are amazing if theyre really worth twice the price of these logitechs.

BTW I got my logitechs from www.newegg.com - $160 shipped, got here in 3 days.
