List the issues you are having with the new Catalyst 9.1 Drivers. Please list Operating System and Videocard.

OS: Vista 32 Bit
Video: 512 HD4870

Issues: Furmark crashes upon opening.

Thought Mirrors Edge was crashing because of these drivers but it turns out something else was making it crash.

Issues: Furmark and Mirrors Edge both crash right when I open them.

Got same issue with Furmark in Windows 7 x64. Don't know if these drivers caused it though...

OS = Vista 64
Cards = 4870 512MB CrossfireX

Other: E8400, P45 chipset, 4 GB RAM

Upon reboot I receive the error "Windows has disabled an incompatible display driver." One card is flagged as disabled with error Code 43 in Device Manager. I do not have a Crossfire heading in my display driver.

This is the same issue I had in 8.12.....good job fixing it.....err wait, ATI didn't. I tried a lot of different things before with 8.12 and got no where, and it seems this is not an unheard of issue (amdgameforums has people with this issue, for instance). I'm currently back on 8.11.

/very frustrated

/very frustratedSame here

OS = Vista 32 and Win7 64
Card = 4870 Crossfire

Back on 8.11's. At least in Win7 I never got Errorcode 43 but Crossfire would not enable. Vista 32 was the same as with any and all of the 8.12's and various hotfixes. I even tried the 9.1 4850x2 Hotfix with the same results, Errorcode 43 and a disabled 2nd adapter.

I cannot beleive that ATI has not fixed this :disgusted:

Well, installed and upon bootup my screen goes black. After several tries and getting the same results, I went into safemode to yank em out. Back to the 8.10's for me. :rolleyes:

4870 1GB

No problems in Cod5, Source based games, Guild Wars, or even Diablo 2.

Only issue I'm having so far with a 4870 is if you hit Auto Tune you have to reboot or your card artifacts for no reason, even when setting back to stock clocks. Not sure why/how considering my card was under 40C

I was sad to let go of 4870 crossfire, firepower was awesome, but i do not miss the huge driver issues with CF, everytime I had to install/uninstall a 30 minute nightmare ensued.

I can honestly say I have never had a driver install problem with my Powercolor 512 4870. The newest drivers always install without a hitch. I used to use driver sweeper prior to cat 8.10. ATI says on their site not to use Driver Sweeper or Driver Cleaner Pro.

Went back to Cat 8.12's as every game and 3d app runs flawless for me with them. Farcry 2 I have to clamp at 50 fps and then it runs smooth =).

I installed them and my modded bioses would no longer work for the second card in my setup. Back to 8.12 :S.

Wow I thought ATi fixed up their driver problems, but they aren't the only ones : \ Nvidia are screwing around with my GTX295 drivers with some games.

makes you wonder, how well is their QA department when problems like this pop out?

No issues here with 9.1 using CCC and Rivatuner 2.22. COD5 plays well and I seemed to have increased my fps a little bit in that game. Vista 64 ultimate and 4870 1GB.

RivaTuner plays nice with them, all games so far work....

Nice work ATi.....

No problems here. Fresh install of Vista x64 and 9.1's. I had issues with them in Win7 lol (and the beta drivers for that matter).

Actually, my FPS is great in L4D but that could be helped by the SSD.

Yes i have to say, now ive gotten use to the procedure ive not had any issues with windows not taking crossfire or anything. i also use driver cleaner pro when installing new catalyst drivers, who knows what to use if not.

(xp pro sys.) but, put your disk in the drive that you got with the g-card. select custom install, select everything but CCC, driver, and buggy add ons they try to throw in (make sure u do the net 2.0 from the disk). once installed, DONT REBOOT! just simply, click on the new catalyst 9.1 that you down loaded to desk top previously(learned that one from blue peter) and continue the installation, de-selecting registration and world of war craft, this time reboot!.

upon reboot you should get the crossfire page to go ahead, once CCC opens up tick the box for crossfire and ways you go.

if you go to the information tab you will see that it appears that one card is disabled, this is normal, the card is recognised and working in crossfire.

but.... if your just going to play bf2142 anyways, u might as well stick to one card and save ur money, this game hates any other setting in CCC than aplication controled, even in the game its self it only goes up to AAX4 when it gives you the option of X8???? any one help me there. (cos im one of the sad ******** who built a x38 with 2 cards and all the high stuff at the time, just to play BF.

i did take a look at dead space, played brilliant, but ive not really put anything on to test these cards, how ya'll getting round the heat problems?, i have t-rad 2's on both my power colors but air space for fans, its crap really.

Diamond 4870 1gb

Issue 1: On first bootup CCC had the default fan speed at 50% which was really loud. Set it down to manual 33% problem fixed.

Issue 2: Not sure if it is recognizing my overclock. I sit GPU to 790mhz and memory to 925mhz and the current values still reads 750mhz and 900 mhz. Worked as intended with previous 8.11 driver (8.12 didn't work for me at all.

No other issues that I can find at the moment.

Figured I would go ahead and throw in my .02. I upgrade to it last week. Overall my dps seemed to actually improve by a tiny bit in wow (by about 3-5 or so), but I am always changing settings/addons/etc so who knows with that.

That being said, I used to be able to OC the card fairly well (I'm sure I have the numbers around here somewhere), but the Auto-Tune application crashed my computer (while having the fan set at 60% - which should have been fine, idling around 65deg). I then tried to go through and do a manual overlock. I couldn't get more than 20mhz out of either the core or memory since the 'upgrade'.

edit: vista enterprise 32bit

I have my 4850 at 650 for the GPU and 1050 for the Memory. Not much of an overclock but the card is running just fine. Idles at 64C with the fan at 52%.

I noticed some slow downs in left4dead at very specific points that were not there in the 8.12 or 8.11s (I forget which driver I was using when I played it.) The very beginning when you drop into the hole with some fire and also the point where you summon the horde with a button (the large room with a machine gun nest.) Everywhere else the performance is perfectly smooth. (I only played the first chapter.)

This is on Windows XP 32bit with the computer in my signature.

Issue: Complete and utter lack of anti-aliasing. I think it works in 8.11. Fail :(

9.1 gave me huge issues:

TF2 or anything Half Life 2 related would randomly crash.
GTA IV would also randomly crash and have very sporadic performance.
Supreme Commander would also randomly crash.
Burnout Paradise would run on 2D and not 3D clock speeds.
Crysis performance was also sporadic.

In short I returned to the 8.12s and have no problems. I'm pretty sure it's a Crossfire/X2 thing as a friend has had nothing but improvements across the board with his 4870 1GB.

Is FC2 still crappy with ATI? Used to get decent framerates but now it's down to 11-12fps.

Never had any issues with Far Cry 2 since release. I played through it on 8.12 drivers at max settings, 1920x1200 (4xAA), never suffered from low frame rates or anything like that.

Didn't try it with the 9.1s as they were so buggy for me in general, what's worse is that I installed the 9.1 drivers on a freshly installed Vista! Oddly that ended up giving me many more problems than the 8.12s on a year old, heavily modified Vista that I was running up to a week ago.

I think I may have found what could be blue-screening/freezing my PC when trying to overclock. I haven't fully tested it yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if my second monitor (a lowly 19'') using Ultramon could be causing problems. What do you think?
