Anyone know of any sites to get speed/update patchs for ur cable modems?
I have a Motorola - Surfboard - SB3100 Cable modem, I've herd ppl on dslreports.com talkin about update patchs for the modem that improves the speed.
I guess its like a drivers update?
Anyone know?
You can get registry patches that help optimize network settings for broadband at SpeedGuide.net (www.speedguide.net.).
Not sure about actual modem patches though.

No Modem patches-The Headend controls the software download to the modem, but you can certainly fix issues within your operating system that impede performance.

You'd be surprised at what the patches at speedguide will do for you if you haven't installed anything to change your RWIN and MTU.
The RoadRunner Tech that set me up when I first got cable ,sent me there. A Huge difference in speed! :)
i got a surfboard 4100 and there are patches, get it from motorola site. its for xp thouhgt, an' if you connect it to the comp' thru usb. if you connect through ethernet, you dont need it, get drivers for your ethernet card. But if you use usb(if you have it in your model) get it at motorolas broadband site, it may take some sleuthing, good luck.

Don't suppose you have an exact link you could post. I've been all over the site and can't find anything.

Hope link works, if it dosnt, click on cable operators on motorola site, on the page that comes up, there'll be a little link on the right, beleow a picture, that says download drivers. than go on from there, on your quest.
