As some of you may know, the 8800GTS (G92) that I bought turned out to be DOA. I RMA'd it to Newegg for another one, but I guess they did not have any, because they refunded my money today. I have tried to buy several of these online in various forums, but I don't seem to be having any luck. So the big question now is....
What video card should I get?

I am kind of leaning towards something like the 9800GTX+ for $150. I noticed that the EVGA ones only require 1 PCI-e power connector, but I also noticed that some people were having problems with this. Does anyone here have one, and have you had any problems Folding with it? Any other video cards that I should consider? Eventually I would like to get a second video card, but one will have to do for now, until I sell some of my old stuff.

It depends on your needs. Are you looking to use as little power as possible, have the most PPD regardless of power and price, or best PPD / watt, PPD / $?

9800gtx+ is about the best you can do for $150. Thing is, I have seen a lot of issues with that card (55nm version) and F@H.

Bottom line, what is your budget?

I was originally hoping to get something for $125, and that's why I was looking at the 8800GTS. I really can't afford the GTX200 series at $250+, so that kind of left me looking at the 9800 series. If people are having problems with the GTX+, maybe I should just get the GT or GTX. They should be better than then ATI 4670 that I currently have. It's only getting about 1400-2000 PPD.

ChasR will know. Still kicking myself for missing a $155 GTX260 on newegg (open box) a week or so ago, it was 192 cores but still!

I got my GTX260 (216) for $219 by keeping an eye on the cyberdeals section.

That was months and months ago and it still seems a bargain.

It handles the 511 pointers so much better then my 8800gt's.
