I was overclocking my CPU and I booted windows at 1743 at 2.2v, and started PRIME my temperatures were at 55'c under load and I figured that was okay.. then my computer turned off, and it won't turn back on, when I hit the power button nothing happens, the fans go for a second then nothing happens, anyone know what the problem is?

Okay, well I fugred out that the CPU wasn't fried... I was using an 250W atx power supply and last time I looked the 5v was right around 4.75v, which is WAY too low... then the computer turned off. This happened to me before on a different power supply, I have to let it sit for a day, something went inside it. I put my other power supply on, my 300watt antec and it seems to work now.. I don' tknow if I should try the 2.2v again tho, altho the system was running very stable, the heat was quite high

Slick I think you still have about 10C there to allow you a look at it. If the PSU can take it try it. Let it boot into the Bios first and see what hardwear monitor(or it's equivalent) says. I have heard that you see higher temps in the bios because they are higher. A 250PSU is I believe below AMD spec, so until you plug that hole I wouldn't be finding anything else to blame. It's just not logical troubleshooting. If you can boot up but your temps remain very high then troubleshoot your ventilation and cooling solution.

I agree with JetMech.

Let's do the math, XP + RAID + volt mod + two hard drives + big fans + low 5V line = more than a 250W power supply can deliver.

My .02

Good Luck!

Yes, I just want to know if 2.2v is too much for an aircooled system. When I did run it. it rand PRIME with no problems for 10 minutes then shut down, I think I am going to try and have my 300watt runn only the motherboard, and the rest I am going to have run the drives... hopefully that will cure it

I cannot believe you even got it to POST with a 250W - that's incredible!
