alright this is getting frustrating......any game i play in OpenGL looks like as if VSYNC was turned off with tearing all over the screen....i never really cared until i got RTCW today but its really annyoiung

ive tried every det from 21.83-23.32 none of them fix this problem....im positive that VSYNC is on...fastwrites off, sidebanding off, AGP 2X....non overclocked video card.....im wiling to try Det3s, but i wanted to see if anyone had suggsestions....

hmm I play RTCW with my Geforce 2TI, all graphics on high @1024 screen with Vsync off no probs at all. Using 21,83 drivers. bilinear or trilinear anistropy filtering. Don't remember if there were any hardware acceleration options in the setup screen...but if there were I'd have enabled them. Sweet game! if I think of anything else I'll post it for ya

Where are you getting your 23.32 drivers I would like to try them :D

Try using Denator Driver Destroyer and reinstall the most recent again. Tried video settings in TRCW?

Theres a thread in this forum that says "leaked ASUS 23.12 drivers", also ive tried messing with settings......here are games that i have this problem with RTCW, QIII Team Arena Demo, Serious Sam 2 Demo, and Unreal Tourney(OpenGL mode), the only Opengl game that doesnt give me this problem is QuakeII....

Did this happen back on Window 2000?

I doubt it'll run on Linux since Linux doesn't support .exe with some plugins but I heard they never seem to work as in Alernative OS'.s

Most OpenGL games seem to ignore the the vsync settings in your gfx card's driver. So you'll probably have to set it in the game it's self.

Edit: I just saw that RTCW lets you select vsync in the game's menus.

They is also a thread "Improve Image Quality On G2/G3" you might want to look into that.

i did this, and its better, but there is still tearing, just not as much...Unreal Tourne and Max Payne, and Madden 2K2 run just fine, i think its a driver issue, so ima install win98 just to play this game on a small 1.4gig hdd i have....

Your going to have to reformat then where you can't install Win98 over Win XP it should be Win 98 first or it'll screw the dual boot as Win 98 doesn't have dual booting hosting capibilities.
