That's right everyone. I am getting ready for a huge upgrade to one of my rigs. I got my taxes all filed, and am expecting about $5700 in returns this Friday. What does that mean for T32? The Celeron D in my sig will be shut down, or given to a friend that needs an upgrade, my P4 in my sig will be moved over to my wife's workstation, and I am upgrading to a Q6600, with a 9600GSO, which will probably be upgraded to a 9800GTX+ in the near future. It might not be much, but it is a help in the push to keep MPC out of our rear view.

Sounds like an excellent way to spend some of that refund to me. You get a newer, faster computer, and Team 32 gets more PPD. I bought 2 8800GTS (G92) video cards this weekend to replace the 4670 in my sig computer. Hopefully I will get them later this week, so that I can install them this weekend.

Sounds great! You'll want to grab some of that SMP + GPU goodness!

Sweet deal deadly... go ahead and get the 9800GTX+... come on, you know you want it. :D

That way if you win the contest you'll have matching cards you can run together. :)

Yes I do want it, but I am trying to keep my budget for the new rig somewhat limited, since I got laid off 2 weeks ago. Running my own business is kinda slow at the moment, but it is there. I just decided to go with the 9600GSO because my distributor can get it to me for about half the price of the 9800GTX+, and once business picks up (or I win the March Madness Folding Contest, whichever comes first) then I will see about picking up the 9800GTX+.

Only my metabolism (seriously, I stand 5'8" and weigh 150), and my driving. There's a reason my '97 Dodge Dakota has a 318 built up to 400 hp. And soon my folding should be quite a bit faster too.:bday:

By the way, does anyone know what kinda production I might be able to expect out of the 9600GSO?

My 9600GSO gets about 2700-4000 ppd depending on the WU's in Windows XP. The crappy WU's tend to make it go more towards 2700. It tends to level out at about 3500-3600 ppd on the average WU.

Of course, this is with one of the older G92 9600GSO's. I imagine the newer models with 64 shaders would perform slightly lower.

Everything is on the way now. I decided to spend a little bit extra and get a 9800GT instead of the 9600GSO. The Q6600 should arrive today, Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR (my first Gigabyte board) and 9800GT tomorrow, and Antec Neo HE 500 should be here Friday. I should have it up and folding by the middle of next week. I would say this weekend, but I do have some things to do that involve going out of town. I may have it all assembled by Saturday.
