Ok, i finally got a raid 0 and raid 1 array working. I installed xp and everything went fine. I installed a few assorted driver and installed the intel matrix manager in windows xp. When i reboot, my computer just frooze at the intel raid screen (after POST).

Here's what i've tried. I have 2 drives,, so i unplugged the sata cable from one of them and the matrix manager booted fine (showed that raid 0 was failed obviously because i had 1 drive disconnected). But the point is, that it didn't freeze.

Then i plugged that same sata cable into the other drive (still only 1 drive connected) and the intel matrix manager frooze. Is my hdd dead? I disabled raid and both drives are detected fine in the bios.

Does installing the matrix manager in windows have anything to do with the matrix manager that loads after the POST? Because i enabled write-back cache in windows xp. Thanks.

EDIT: I'll post a pic of the freeze tomorrow. Basically, it freezes after it says:
PORT 0: No device
PORT 1: No device... etc
until it hits the port with the hard drive in question connected

Everything was working great but after i reboot, it didn't want to go past this screen.

I don't know what happened, but i decided to delete the raid arrays and try again. This worked. Booted up with only the working drive plugged in, then deleted the raid arrays. Rebooted with both drives plugged in and reconfigured the raid. This would be very bad if i had any data on them. Hope it doesn't happen again.
