I am about to set up a new raid and one of the stickied posts up top says that when you are installing windows (in my case and with the instructions windows xp pro)that you need a floppy disk in order for windows to set up the raid controllers. I don't have a floppy drive and was wondering if I could use a flash drive or CD? Thanks

Other than using a floppy to load the RAID drivers during XP Setup, your only other alternative is to use a program like nLite to integrate the drivers, and then run the install from a slipstreamed (optional) and integrated CD or DVD.
I haven't tested it with XP, but perhaps a USB floppy will work?
Vista is a lot better about this. You can load drivers from another CD, USB stuff or floppy.

it depends on the bios, but yes, a USB floppy drive will work. most modern motherboards will handle a usb floppy drive fine. that is what i use. i grabbed a used one that belonged to an ibm thinkpad. the bios detects is just like any old floppy drive. much better than swapping out floppy drives to just do a windows xp/2003 install on raid.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions, I think I will try nlite. I am broke right now after just building my computer and then a second hard drive for this raid. Hope I can figure this program out. Thanks again, I appreciate the help.

Are you using XP? Sounds like you are.
