I'm pondering one of the following setups for a simple/stupid mirrored large drive and looking for some input...

Currenly I have a 640gig drive dedicated to videos/images. I'd like to back this up with a mirrored drive. Nothing fancy. Pondering either going with a drive hanging off a hardware raid 1 card along with an existing drive or a NAS solution...

640gig Drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218)
Hardware(not software emulated) Raid PCI Card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816110002)
SATA-e enclosure (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817145167)

OR

DLink DNS-323 two drive NAS - supports RAID 1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822155003)
(2) WD 1gig drives (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284)

The former would run me ~$150 for an external drive to be mirrored with my existing 640g archive drive.

The latter would run me ~$430 for a NAS setup with a pair of mirrored 1 gig drives.

Appreciate any input.

Opted to go with this solution...

DLink DNS-323 two drive NAS - supports RAID 1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822155003)
(2) WD 1gig green drives (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10009901&prodlist=jellyfish)

I like the idea of having a simple stupid dedicated network storage device not relying on a system. Should run cool too with the green drives.
