Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and just built a new rig but am having some problems troubleshooting before I begin the overclocking process.
I purchased 8GB (4x2GB) OCZ Platinum1066, ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe Mobo, PhenomII 940(stock speed),EVGA GTX260(stock speed), OCZ 700W gamexstream.
I ran memtest and it restarted my computer almost instantly. So I was determined to find the bad stick. I pulled all but one stick in A1 and ran memtest again for 7hrs. and it passed. I did the same with another. passed. Then I tried to run them both together in slots A1 and B1. The computer restarted almost instantly. Then I ran one of the good sticks in B1 thinking it was the slot. Passed. All of the RAM sticks have been tested and have passed as well as all slots. When I run 2 or more sticks, the test fails almost instantly and reboots my PC. I can boot into windows (Vista and 7) but can't pass memtest. Timings are 5-5-5-15; tRC 32; 3:8; 536.8MHz; 2.2v (per memset)
Any help would be awesome. I'm getting ready to start overclocking, but I gotta get everything working at stock speeds first...:confused:
