View Full Version : Thanks Again Doug
I finally got the HP hub completely hooked up and it now supports the 7 machines in my basement. It works great and was a big help. Here's a pic in case you miss it ;)

Looks good JigPu...I got to get me a digital camera to take a picture of my setup :)
Nice looking setup TC. We really do need to see a pic of the missing systems though! ;)
Here's a fairly current pic of my home lab. One new addition is I have added a SMC 16port 10/100 switch to the rack to replace a 8port 10/100 switch and a 5port 10/100 hub. The hub was starting to give me trouble.

Cool, TC: that thing is definitely getting better use there than it was here (just raising the height of a shelf 2 inches, unplugged!)
Farm looks great.
So do the other pics in here. I gues I'll have to do a few pics of my "ghetto farm" to make you guys look even better!
Now where is my camera?
Prepare to be inspired.....

wow! TC, Cy, and Roger, u guys' racked farm could be double as a small school's computer lab!! :D
well, all my rigs are scattered all over my house..... i'll upload some pics 2morrow. ;)
Great pics guys. Cy here are the missing machines :) In my office I have my main rig in the window case, and on the opposite wall two systems are underneath my scanner. In the parts from hell closet is another computer. And for the grand finale - the attic computer. This is where systems are banished to when they're noisy and have no place to grow :D

man lol my mashine just keep seeming smaller and smaller...
hmm i think i am inspired to build another xp system that should help lol
The parts are getting pretty cheap now. You can get a decent DDR mobo for around $70, or even less for an ECS I think. An XP1500+ is about $105 and those overclock to at least 1600 with good nic and hard drive. Scrounge around for some other stuff and you can put a fast machine together for peanuts compared to what it cost a few years ago.
i have an asus a7m266 motherboard being RMA'd right now. when it gets back i an probly going to put togather another system... would it be better for me to get a KVM switch or can i work something out thru nics?
VNC works through nics that is what I use

when my house's "study / guest room" finish up remodeling, i'll put back my server machine over there instead of sitting in my room, and get a KVM switch and get my old PIII500 crunching again. it was running something like 720-740Mhz.....
