Got tax money and thinking about getting a bluray burner. Looking at these 2:
http://www.buy.com/prod/buffalo-mediastation-external-blu-ray-hd-dvd-combo-drive-buffalo-6x/q/loc/111/207684395.html

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136137

does going over usb make any difference?? It isn't a major concern for me if its internal or external-external just gives me the ability to use on 2 systems..
Also-has anyone ever ordered or heard of this site: http://www.techonweb.com/products/productdetail.aspx?id=A01FYU&src=PG

I can't comment on the burning side of things since mine is only a reader, but I've had my LG HD/BD drive for about a year now and it's working just fine.

I don't much about the quality of the Buffalo stations or what type of drive they include, but I can say that having an external (whether it be firewire or USB) would be nice. I'm considering getting an external enclosure for mine so that I can use it wherever I wish.

Personally, if you want an external one, I would just go with the LG and get an external case for it. They're relatively cheap.

I don't think blu-ray burners are economical in any sense. Media alone is at cheapest $5 a disc. That makes for some expensive coasters.

I would go for an internal drive that will also read and burn DVDs. They're as low as $100. I wish I would have gone that route, because now my HTPC has 2 optical drives (blu-ray & DVD+RW)

I'd just stick with newegg. Their service is great, and dependable, and nobody beats their prices.
