Kits aside from Swiftech kits are generally bad. They will likely perform worse than a high end air cooling setup (TRUE120 and a push/pull setup). This is an example of a better watercooling kit:

correct, BUT do not order from Newegg. someone else here was shipped a opened and broken unit. so go to a better place like;
Petras Tech Shop (http://www.petrastechshop.com/)
JabTech (http://www.jab-tech.com/)
SideWinders Computer (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/)

Wow that's shocking. I've ordered tons of stuff from Newegg and not had any issues. Is this isolated to their watercooling parts?

Totally agree, go to a place that only does watercooling, thats why i tell people not to buy a computer from a place that sells washers and dryers.:) Same goes for this.

Just to even the playing field, I did order my w/c kit from the egg and everything turned out fantastic.
One thing I have noticed about newegg is that they tend to fill the box with peanuts AFTER they already put the item on the bottom of the box. I'm not sure thats the best way to do it, but I haven't received any broken items yet.
Petras, sidewinder (havent personally used, but I know they're great), and jabtech are great alternatives.

That's how my shipment today was packed. A sharp shock/drop and the contents would have little protection.
Luckily, my sparkly new E8400 was already lovingly packaged suspended in the box by Intel to avoid disaster :D
**But back on-track here!
I read up on the aquagate, and cannot think of a situation where normal people would not be ashamed of themselves for selling such a gizmo.
Offering an aluminum radiator, when a Black Ice Pro II is so inexpensive.
Mixing aluminum and copper in the cheaply crafted, soldered fin waterblock.
And all this sub-standard equipment for a price on par with some of the better stuff that's available.
For shame.
Looks like the best solution is still to "roll your own" bud.

Roll yer own, haven't heard that that in a long time. Gaa can't wait to retire and make a special closet for that. Showing my age.....
Spend a few days reading many links and posts, you'll figure what is good. Please pay no attention to marketing hypes with 160 IQ's who write just to sell you stuff and have never used a PC, just a MAC to say whats best..
Listen to the 130 IQ who have done it and know whats right.

Hey now I use a mac... Lol. Back on topic I am with everyone else. Everything I have read about the aquagate states the build quality and not in good ways. Like someone else said you dont mix metals in watercooling. Sure the coolant is there to keep the parts from corroding but imo I would rather not have to have that worry in my mind at all.
Do as others have said and customize your own complete custom setup or get the swiftech kit. You won't be disappointed with either of those options. I had this same debate a while back (not with the aquagate in particular) and I eventually decided to go custom and am glad I did.

MACS rock, but not in this reality. OC and performance for the hobby guy isn't the same as an office guy who wears a suit to get it done. Once ya get home it's you and the hardware, no boss up your hiney to pump out a sterling lying review.
Macs rule in their world. Just happens to be a diff world at OC forums.
