Hi
I recently picked up a cheap cheap System HP BRIO BA410 for my 7 year old son , The motherboard i believe is an oem version of the FIC FR31 , the board has an AGP 4X slot , 3 pci ,2 xdimm , PM133 Via Chipset 66/100/133 fsb On board S3 Pro Savage Graphics..
My Question is regarding the AGP Slot , I nearly purchased a geforce 2 gts to put in it but the agp slot looked quite short , so i pulled my Geforce 3 from my rig and lined it up , now it would fit , but the L shape connector that sits inside my agp slot would be outside on this slot ? this cant be right can it so i didnt try to put it in thought id post here , so i put sisoft on my sons computer and it reports the AGP AS:
AGP BUS:
Version 2.00
Bus Speed 68mhz
Current data transfer 4X(272mhz)
Aperture size 64.

Am i missing something is this an early version AGP slot , spotted a review on the BA410 system and they have put a geforce 2 in this computer ?

Any Help Advice Much Appreciated
Thanks

yes, you can safely install the GTS in it.
that additional space is for additional power - if i can remember correctly, wich none of the geforces will use. they have the L only to sit properly once most of the mainboards has the full slot.
someone will soon come up with the correct and complete explanation of this, for now, know there is no problem at all on installing your GTS in that AGP.
