Why does my bios hang?

my board keeps on hanging at the bios for a really long time but eventually continues... but i still want to fix the problem.

At what point does it stall? What is displayed on the screen and such?

the ide stuff and the processor speed and ram count

Do you have Quick Boot enabled in the BIOS?

Try resetting the bios and then rollback manually to your old previous settings of fsb , ram timing etc see if it fixes it...

Just out of curiousity, disable the floppy drive controlelr in the bios, and set the A drive to none....then reboot and see if it's cured.

Also check to see what the ide seek time is set at. The last three boards two abit and one asus defaulted this value to 5 secs.
