Do sound cards get hot?

I just had an ISA sound card in my sys and it REAL hot... I don't think the heat effects them as much as say vid cards though... Just my $0.02;)

Not to my knowledge they don't.

Take the panels off your case and feel it(Make sure you touch the case first) and it shouldn't be hot at all.

If it isn't hot/warm, it's not getting power and prolly not working.

My SB Live Platinum gets pretty hot, not burning hot but still pretty hot.

My Audigy Gamer stays nice and cool. Thanks to a Sunon 80mm 50c.f.m. fan about three inches below it.

My SBLive! get's warm, not hot. but it does heat up. I don't think I'll be putting a HSF on it though. If you're really worried, you could always slap a small heatsink on it.
