I saw one of these (http://www.mtn-elkay.com/Coolers.html) for $129 in Wal-Mart today and I was wondering if there was any way to incorporate its innards into a watercooling system?

Require some space and some knowledge of how it works (entirely) but I'm sure if you set your mind to it you could make it happen;)

Actually seen someone make a working, watercooled PC, INSIDE one of those.

I was hoping someone had some plans written up or something before I blew $129 ;)

No plans, but some good shots of the innards.

So you didn't actually use it as a case, as in the pictures above? You just dropped a pump in the reservoir? What kind of temps?

at bootup its about 22c after gaming it climbs to about 30c and stays there. i use koolance blocks for CPU AGP and GF3.
In my opinion the answer is no - many of those units are powered by pelts or very small refrigeration units which are intended to chill water only and don't have the performance to handle the heat loads put out by your rig.

if you dont use a radiator the unit wont have to work very hard at all. with a radiator however the water is much warmer when it returns to the chiller making the chiller work a lot harder than it needs to

Yeah nothing like having a multi-purpose CD-ROM/Cupholder with water spicket right above it :)
