I recently traded my friend one of my old 32MB PC100 sticks of ram for a 128MB PC133 stick. Woohoo I thought, what a great deal. Little did either of us know, the ram didn't work. (Appearantly my friend got it from somone else who gave it away because it didn't work) I mean, the ram boots and runs fine for a while, but then my pc gets crazy errors. I downloaded DocMemory and tested the stick. On the mats+ test, address 37m (MB im assuming) seems to add 2 to the 2nd bit of data (xyxxxxxx), and on all other tests, address M1 adds 4 fo the 1st bit of data (yxxxxxxx). This seems to be a permanent problem with the memory, so i would think it would be possible a lose solder joint, or a bad resistor or something.
Would anyone know if this would be repairable? Or am I going to have to go buy some more ram.
