I'm in the process of searching for parts to build my new computer. Its my first attempt at building a computer. I plan on overclocking it ofcourse, but I have a couple questions. First of all how much power is enough? I was thinking 400 Watt, but someone fill me in. Second, I was planning on getting a dual motherboard with two AMD Athlon XP 1800 processors... good choice or bad? And where can I find a good dual processor? I've been looking.

Hello and Welcome to the Forums...
For future reference a question like this would be answered better and faster if posted under the proper topic... AMD motherboards for instance;)
As to your question.... 400W should be plenty... depends on what all is going to be in your computer... lots of fans, drives, in general just a bunch of power hungry stuff then yes...
Dual processors... Make sure you get an os that can utilize them both like 2000 or XP. And if your a gamer than dual proc won't help much as not many games are multithreaded....

I agree with rain, 400 is going to be plenty for even the most loaded system. As for duallies, it is great when you have it but the price keeps me away. You can always just buy 1 CPU, and then get another one later if you think you need it I guess!:D

I think you posted it in the right place, also. Unless you want to split it up into 3 separate questions, that might actually get you more info.

Let me begin with that don't think dual is just "DUAL POWER OF EVERYTHING." Dual processor is meant for MULTI TASKING and meant for specific programs like Photoshop where alot of CPU usage is being used or if you open like 20 IE browers or run multiple heavy programming programs.

If you plan to game stay on the desktop then a uniprocessor is your pick.

The PSU should be on you but to be ahead of the game I'd get 450-500watt to get it to last and not get another upgrade in 1 year or something when you can't run more fans in the future. Then your 300-350 watt has just been wasted.
