Since I travel quite a bit with my job, I was trying to figure out how I could monitor my rigs from the road. I tried setting up a VPN connection and a PCAnywhere connection, but my ISP apparently doesn't know how to open the ports correctly on my DSL modem/router. So I decided to tryout the FAHmon webapp utility. Fortunately, I already had a personal website to load the web pages to. I found some nice FAHmon templates on another forum, and modified them for my personal taste. If you are interested, take a look. On the main page, click on any of the clients and you will see the WU Information on the right.

This link is the main FAHmon page I created.

This link is much simplier, so that I can access it from my cell phone (Blackberry).

Yeah, I've been using them for a while. It's been kinda a pain to upload them every so often. The newer SVN builds have built in FTP action, which is pretty nice.

I love it, but it does not tell you if any of your clients have crashed or hung-up. By using the webapp, I will know if any of my clients have crashed while I am away from home.

Which versions have the built-in FTP action, and how do you use it? I currently have a BAT file setup to run as a scheduled task to upload the HTML file to my website.

Yes... Yes... where to find these SVN builds?

I've considered doing some myself... I've got the tools. Would just need to build the widgets library FahMon uses.

Currently, I'm still using a v2.3.3svn build I got from a fellow Folder @ OCAU. Uncle Fungus compiled it up for him to my knowledge.

Then again... I've been wanting to build my own client monitoring app in .Net. I could probably get something working decently well in a week if I could work on it at work. However, my employer probably wouldn't like that very much. It's on my ever growing "to-do" list. ;)

Ah yes, the FAHmon thing is more realtime, makes sense now:santa2:
