I have hit the limit with my newly acquired 1.4ghz AYHJA Y oc @ 1672mhz w/1.95v full load with my sk-6 40cfm fan is 45C after awhile running prime95 or enconding some video.... now i have adequate air moving through my case and can duct air from outside to the heatsink no problem, but im wondering if i could run a peltier to get some more cooling I know their hot but what wattage of one would i need to get better temps with this chip and then what kind of cooling?? would a 80watt cool it and could my air cooling handle it?? I don't wanna go water but just looking at my options with what i can do with this system for now (system will be retired in fall)... then would if it were possible where could i get a different clip for my heatsink so i don't crush the core?? I do have a backup Duron 700mhz that im willing to try all this out on before putting my baby at serious risk..

pelts of any effective capacity DEFFINATELY need a watercooling rig..
remember peltier just moves heat....
so as the delta increases, u have one really cold side and one really hot side...
if u don't remove the heat it would just consume itself basically

yes so im finding out... im doing some research online and its looking like i will have to live with 1672mhz for awhile yet...
From your description, your best aircooling improvement would be to duct from outside (it's not that hard) and increase the CFM of your fan. The SK6 will take an 80mm fan pretty easily. I'm assuming you have the Delta 38cfm on there now. Step up to the Delta 68cfm 80mm and you should see some improvement.

For an athlon of that spec you're looking at 172 minimum peltier wattage. That's going to need watercooling. My waterblock gets warm to the touch with a 220W peltier on it (no cpu load yet), so air cooling would just melt the peltier.
