I've been folding on my laptop for a while, but its never been running on both cores. I had been running the stable branch, and was using foldingathome-5.0.2-r5. I had noticed it was having a problem starting on both cores but just never had done anything about it.

Today I unmasked the testing version of fah by adding sci-biology/foldingathome ~x86 to /etc/portage/package.keywords and emerged foldingathome-6.02-r1. This fixes the bug with v5's init script, and both cores are now happily folding away.

Just posting in case anyone else may stumble across it and find it useful.

Interesting. Will this enable a quad running gentoo x86-64 to fold the smp WUs?

Rebooted and I'm back to a single instance. Spoke to soon.

This has nothing to do with the type of workunits afaik, I haven't messed with using the smp flag as I saw some mention that it has its own host of issues.
