I thought it would be fun to look back at some old folding posts:

I posted this on 9/24/02:

I just broke into the TOP 100 (for Team 32) and crossed the 1500 POINT milestone mark today. It has taken several months and a few upgrades to my computers to reach this point. I never thought I would make the top 100 when I first started.

I posted this on 10/02/02:

Well, I got my third Tualatin rig running and my production is up to 137 pts/week (43rd on Team 32). However, it appears that CharlesNF must have got all of his rigs up and running also. His production is up to 169 pts/week (33rd).

I posted this on 5/7/03:

All of the following numbers are for one of my Intel Celeron Tualatins running at 1.6 GHz.

Oct '02 - 50 PPW - folding 5.6 point Tinkers (protein # unknown)
Nov '02 - 210 PPW - folding 10 point Gromacs (original Gromacs)
Feb '03 - 140 PPW - folding 9.56 point Tinkers (p394)
Apr '03 - 327 PPW - folding 33 point Gromacs (p540s)
May '03 - 368 PPW - folding 38 point Gromacs (p909)

Today, it's hard to imagine making 50 PPW, or even 368 PPW.

The joys of new tech. I looked at an archived newegg a bit ago from when they first started, it was funny to see what was for sale. Even looking back to my 04 newegg order when i built a top of the line rig was an interesting flashback.

When I first started folding, I used a different handle, and just folded for team 0 (Anonymous).

The average WU in those early days, was worth less than 2 points! < >

I know. Looking back, I can't believe it. I had forgotten where the Folding program had started. I was actually looking for something else when I found these old posts, and thought it would be fun to share.

Yep, I remember I started folding on a Slot1 Celeron 800 @1066Mhz with an Alpha PEP66 cooler. Together with 256MB PC133 2-2-2 and an Abit BE6-II, anyone remember those times?!

I have only been folding for about three years or so. My first folder was a p3 500mhz laptop that took about a week to finish a wu.
BTW Edward, nice avatar. Is that Chattanooga or atl? Kinda reminds me of turner field.

Jason, the picture in my avatar is several years old now, but it was in the parking lot of Turner Field. We were actually racing SCCA Autocross on the spot where the old Fulton County Stadium was.

Lol yep thought so. Last few years I've been lucky enough to be able to do some open track at tgp. Loads of fun.

I've been to TGP, and it is a lot fun. Raced my Camaro there several times.
