SMP + GPU2 folding on a stock E8500 and a (now stock) 9600GT 512MB
SMP client priority set to idle
GPU client priority set to low
The GPU client finishes about 5 or 6 WU's 100% and then all of a sudden starts to give "Unstable Machine" and I find the client on "max EUE reached, pausing 24 hours".
I found out that when I go to the nVidia control panel and press a button called 'restore all defaults' the EUE stops and the card folds again!?
I noticed something is set to "use advanced 3D setting", I'm now seeing what happens with "let the application decide" set...
OS = Vista64
nVidia driver = 7.15.11.8122
Anyone had this happening?

I had this happen to one of my 8800GT cards, running XP64 and 181.22 driver. I reduced the shader overclock by 50, and it seems to be running just fine now (no more EUEs). You might try doing the same thing, reduce your shader overclocker just a little and see if it is stable.

I have been having the same problem. I thought it was related to the fan speed going down all the time though. Sometimes it will do it even at stock speeds though. Looking at foldingforums, it seems like a lot of people are having problems with 57xx WU's. Seems like they stress the cards a lot more.
Peddler - when you say "stressing the card a lot", what's the reason for the card failing to keep folding?
Do they get too hot, or ?
Because obviously these cards are made to work their little bejeebers off, trying to keep up with Far Cry2 with high resolution and frame rates, etc.
You might have to set the fan speed up to 85% or so in RivaTuner to keep it going.

It seems like the higher I go, the quicker it drops back down to 50% or so :-\. I can hear just suddenly drop back down. If I'm here, I put it back up, but I can't do it while I'm sleeping!
Adak, I really don't know how stressed they are or how much they can handle. I'm just going off of what other people said.

I have a Zalman VF700-Cu cooler strapped to it, card shows 58C full-load when Folding for hours. With the setting "Let the 3D application decide" GPU2 kept folding overnight so I'll see what happens.
