I have not been able to get my sound card to work in WIndows XP. I have it on dual boot and it works perfectly in Windows 98. I've downloaded new drivers, tried installing the WIn2K drivers but nothing will work. Evertime I try, the installer will say that it can't find an SBLive! on this computer! But if I look in the Device Manager, it's there! So I remove it from my system, and try installing the drivers and it still won't work. I've tried moving the sound card to another PCI slot, and there's no change. I must not be doing something right. HELP!!!

Re-download the setup file make sure you have selected XP as the OS and the right family type.

Won't it already be there for Windows default though ?

My SBLive! is currently in the 3rd PCI slot. I keep the two below my AGP open so my video card can breathe a little. The default XP drivers don't work on my computer for some reason.

try updating the device manager driver you said its there instead of removing it. ive never used XP before but if you have the option to update the driver from within its properties youll be able to install the proper files of the sound card driver. but i dont know if this will work if youre dealing with an .exe. this would work if the file you got was in the .zip or other compressed format.

The Soundcard should work with Windows XP's drivers. When I had XP, it worked great with Soundblaster Live 5.1. It did not work, however, with Soundblaster Audigy.
