View Full Version : Dual Boot HDs
I have two computers one with XP pro the other with 98fe. I want to take the IDE 98 hard drive out of one computer and add it to the IDE xp computer
as a slave. The bios gives me the option to boot from A,C,SCSI or A,D,SCSI. I don't really care about sharing files between the two drives, all tho it would be nice. Do you see a problem with this?
Thanks

Windows 98 may complain that it is operating with new hardware; which may warrant a reinstall of it; at the very least new drivers.
In your bios you may set the appropriate boot hard drive for Windows XP (HD1) or Windows 98 (HD2). Additionally, your motherboard my have a F-# key dedicated to selecting the boot device after POST.
many, sorry, but get a new computer already.

I don't see anything in the bios about appropriate boot hard drive for Windows. If I press F8 during boot I do see "Return to OS Choices Menu". Reinstall of 98 is not really an option, don't have 98cd. Two questions:
Both computers are the same brand, motherboard, and speed cpu (don't know about the Sspec#). Do you think it might be worth a try to see if it would work?
Is there a work around for this problem?
