Ok so I gave air cooling a shot (I hate air cooling) and just like I expected... it fails. It can in no way come close to being able to handle the overclocks i'm aiming for on my 920.

It has been some time since I built my last system (in sig) and I would appreciate some feedback on my proposed WC setup. ( here is a link to the excel sheet on the parts with URLS in case you would like to review the total parts list- Linkage (http://tinyurl.com/bcx7r9)).

1. RAD -The Black IceŽ GT Xtreme 420
2. Block - Aqua Computer cuplex XT di
3. Pump -Swiftech MCP655-B 12v DC Pump w/Tach Sensor
4. Pump Top - Bitspower D5/MCP655 Pump Top Mod
5. Fans (3)- Scythe SY1425SL12H 140mm Case Fan

Questions:

1. Rad / Fans - I cant find much data on 140mm Rad and fan combos. There is a very limited selection of 140mm fans atm so I basically chose the highest static pressure fans i could find with a reasonable noise level. Any recommendations? I figured 140mm fans would be better than 120mm fans with an adapter (for noise and airflow). I will be modding my new lian li to fit this beast internally, so multi rads are not an option.

2. Flow - With a modded 655 pump do you think i will have enough flow for this large rad + CPU + FET + NB blocks? I know adding FET and NB blocks to the loop will add considerable restriction but i would like to add them in since I feel the 420 rad will be under utilized for cooling only the CPU (plus it just looks cool).

Flow = Pump>RAD>CPU>FET>NB>Pump

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Why the 420? The 360 and 480 use standard 120mm fans so there is a larger choice :P

Figured the 420 would offer the maximum cooling potential. Also it fits perfectly in the bottom of my lian-li case with only ~1cm to spare =p

A 320 rad would be fine for your system. The FET and NB blocks really aren't that restrictive. They are just in and out with no pin matrix like a CPU block. If you just want that beast, it will do what you need. Just know that it's suited to highspeed fans that are very loud. A MCR320 is 1/3rd the price, XSPC RX320 is $50 cheaper, and both would be considerably quieter than the BIX420 while still keeping your listed parts very cool.
