View Full Version : HELP! Rivatuner wont oc the second 4870

Well, I did a fresh install back to good ol' XP SP3 today and got everything up and running except for ccc and rivatuner. I downloaded and installed the 9.2 suite.

After I installed that, I installed rivatuner and tried to oc the cards and can only see the overclocking tab on one of the now 4 drop downs (pics below).

When CCC is displayed and not in the tray, it says that the overdrive capabilities have not been initialized yet and to try again later.

Here is the drop down box once riva is open for the "gpu 0" drop downs:

And here is the no options (just fan control) to oc the other carddrop downs for the "gpu1" drop downs:

Does my system think there are 2 x2s in there or what?

How can this happen on a fresh install?

And finally, what am I to do about cleaning this mess up?

I am totally befuddled about this. I hope we can fix it.

Thank you for the reply, but that did not solve anything for me. Windows is trying to install 2 sets of vga controllers which are both installing my 4870x2. When I try to oc anything, it just cancels out and then it wouldnt let me even see the slave gpu's oc menus at all.

I have since then reformatted and went back to vista ultimate lol. I spent the better part of today fiddling around with it too much, so I resign in defeat. Now it is time to get my vc oc back and start some benches. Will post them on hwbot and a few vantage runs on the orb.

Two devices in Device Manager is correct for an X2.

With this new version of Rivatuner I'm pretty sure you will only see things as one card (no slave gpu), I'll check that out tonight for you.
