Hey everyone,

I have a question. I have 2 small chips on my AMD duron core. Very small. My athlon has bigger and still works. But blah blah. So I tried to replace the heatsink on it (the 1ghz duron) and it was dead in the water. I put the 650 back in it and it works fine. grr. so My 1 ghz is gone for the most part. Does anyone know if theyre is anything I can do for it. Purchased at a local retailer and I know they won't take it back. Any suggestions?

Try to seal the crack with super glue. Its a long shot but who knows. Its dead already anyway.

I was told that Superglue is Conductive so im kinda wary about it.

BUT! I did find some high tempature Silicon. SO im going to try that and post if it worked or not. WIsh me luck.

I'm sorry to say, this may have to be chalked up to experience.

That core has somewhere around 37,000,000 transistors on it. It's just like a very miniature circuit board. If you've had the misfortune of breaking the contacts on it, then there's nothing that you can do.

Good luck in the future,
