winXP and dialup problem HELP!

i have winXP pro installed on my pc with an external 56k modem
when i connect to my isp (standard dialup) first time there is no problem
when i disconnect and try to reconnect it connects to my isp fine
however i can get any data to flow in and out of my pc
i cant use Mirc,ICQ,web browser etc....

when i reboot,it works the first time again,but after that no go

any ideas

i would first check the network setting, window, and IE. it sounds like it's some sort of software misconfiguration. i could be wrong. but take a look of the each programs' setting, and so does the WinXP's.

make sure u uncheck the proxy server tho, i don't think u r using it.

also, check w/ ur ISP, it might be their side's problem....
