i have 512mb of crucial cas2 pc133 ram. i want to overclock it a few mhz so its a little bit faster than my FSB. i know there are setting in the bios for making it run faster but i was wondering if there was another way to do it. i've heard people talk about having their ram at specific mhz...150, 166, etc. thanks for any replies. :)

FSB is the RAM speed, unless your motherboard does something really special.

There are other things that you can do to increase you ram's performance, however. There are certain settings in the bios, like the cas timings, interleave, etc. That I really don't know too much about, however.
BTW, not at all a dumb question. We all had to ask about that at some time...

My Via board has a setting to overclock(or underclock) the RAM by the PCI bus speed ie hostclk+pci clk. My current ram wont do it at either cas2 or 3 but got a stick of PC150cas2 on the way:).
