Hello again. Out of curiousity, if I'm on a budget where I COULD get a Lian-Li PC-65 or a Antec SX840, which one would you choose? I would also like your reasoning (I'm trying to get my parents let me build my own comp, so if I can save 150 bucks by getting a cheaper case with about the same performance, I would have a higher chance of getting all the hardware I want.)
Thanks!

Get the Antec, then. Save the money.

if i remember the lian li has better cooling since its made of aluminum (hence better heat dispersment) but the antec is probably almost as good and you won't be able to tell much of a difference. i recommend the antec..you can still stuff that baby full of fans to get the desired cooling effects that you want.

If your on a budget go for whatever is cheaper.

Now time for the next question.... would three 80mm fans be enough in the antec? (This is also with CPU fan, memory fans, Video Card and Chipset fans...)

yeah one intake and 2 in the back should do fine unless you want to mod and put a couple in the side. that could never hurt :)

Thanks! I noticed at newegg the 1040 antec server case was 10 bucks more than the 840 case.... think I should buy the 1040 for the 10 extra bucks? (I'll give you a hint... 4 extra bays, looks awesome, a few more places to put a fan... and alienware uses it.) :)

Go for the server case then...
Take this word just because it is alluminum it doesn't cool any better than steel. Steel cases like Antec can be wooping Lian Li's around its how you config the case to the airflow, if you have problems cooling your case and depend on an alluminum case to do something to your airflow then you should really get more case fans.
Get the Antec case and get 120mm fans like 6(Make sure its an even number), of them or something like 3 intake and 3 exhaust and then you can mod some stuff and put a duct or something and then you'll have like 700cfm going through the case! :D

Well, that's if I don't mind the sound of a hurricane 2 ft away from me. :)
Thanks again everyone!

You can get the real quiet 120mm fans which are in 30 dBA's which push 100cfm.

antec, save the money, and upgrade the hardware, or save it. $70 for an antec full tower at www.emscomputing.com (sx1200)
Speaking of cases, I'm going to rebuild after AMD releases their next processor (Some Time This Spring) and I'm looking for new case. My eye is on the Lian Li PC68. It has alot of nice features for a case ex. Slideout Mobo mount, and the number of interal bays. I also like the fact that it comes equipped with a fan controller on the from of the case so that you can adjust the speeds. This time I'm tring to build so that I don't have to worry about rebuilding for aleast 6 months to a year. (NOT LIKELY)

but lian li looks so cool!
i think i saved enough money to buy a pc70 (225buck+shipping:mad: ) but it looks so cool!!!
I have seen the Lian Li PC68 pretty low and then mwave has a nice case that is Intel ready for all the Intel users. That site is http://direct.mwave.com/mwave/doc2/a14224.html
