not sure where to post this cuz i don't know what's causing the problem. videocard driver conflict i guess..
radeon 8500 driver version 3286 on w2kpro

when starting ati dvd, (or any other player) the splash screen loads and just as it's initializing playback I get the error message..
"atimmc.exe has generated errors and will be shut down by windows. you will need to restart the program"
click ok and it shuts it down.

first happened with the 6011's because that's the first driver version i used when i put this system together. on a clean install of w2kpro. i thought it was the 6011's because i was using all the same hardware with a celly 533 any soyo and also a slot a 750@990 on a gigabyte kt133, driver version 3286 with no problems. so i formatted and did fresh install of windows, installed the latest 4 in 1's and the 4.10 agp, direct x 8, 3628's, mmc7 and w2k's serive pack 2 and compatability update.
sorry for the long post but i figured if anyone was gonna try to help they'd wanna know exactly what i did the rest of my specs are in the sig, thanx for any ideas.

anyone know a forum that may have answers to this. or is anyone else having the same problem. via chipset maybe.... i just can't seem to figure it out. i've tried many diferent instalation setups and nothing seems to work. only thing i havn't tried is just to put windows 98 on it. tried with and without via 4in1's and agpdriver...with and without w2k updates.... ARRRGGGGHHHH.
(we watch alot of dvd's...., well. not anymore it seems...)
think i'm gonna drop a post at rage3d and maybe amdmb...
