I am currently running an Athlon 1.2 Tbird @ 1.4 (133X10.5@1.82V) with a Swiftech MCXC370 fan/heatsink and I am getting these temps ...... idle 48C full load 58-60C. My question is, is this normal, and if not what may I do to get this cooler?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hrm... does sound kind of high. I'm running a XP 1800+ @ 1.72GHz with only 1 intake - 1 exhaust ... 2 if you count PSU... and a CoolerMaster HHC-001 Heat Pipe w/ASII. My load temps are 38c and idle is 32c. Side of my case if off on top of my desk. Perhaps you're heatsink isn't mounted right? What thermal compound are you using? How warm is it in the room? Many of things can contribute to this... might want to check on some of these and see what could be causing it. :)
-Edit- Yes. Welcome to OC.com! (sorry was kind of late) :D

First, welcome to OC.com :D
Yes that is a bit on the high side. As Morbid mentioned, make sure the HS/F is mounted properly and you're using thermal compound. Also, some boards tend to report temps on the high side. What mobo are ya using?

welcome to the Forums ,
As to the temps, you are pushing the top side of hot ..............also if ya have read any reviews of that swifty HS ya will know that it isn't the greatest cool that swifttech makes

Thanks for the welcome guys. First off, I am using heat sink compound. Second my mobo is a Shuttle AK31 V2. Third, my room does seem to stay a little warm.
Also, do you think that I should keep it at this or should I declock it or something? Thanks again for the welcome and all the replies.

I get better temps with my $12 Volcano 5 HSF on a a similar overclock. That Swiftech should be doing MUCH better than that. Something is wrong with the mount, my guess.
It could also be your case is not vented well enough to avoid heat build up.
To test this try leaving the cover (side) off and see if your temps go down alot.
