hi

I'm new to the forum, (first post) and it looks like i'll start with a dumb question :(

I want to put together an AMD-based system in the near future, and I'm not quite sure what kind of memory to get. Everywhere i look i see "get CAS2, it's better than CAS3." OK, but what's CAS2.5? I decided to go with Corsair (if you think that's a bad idea PLEASE tell me). The problem is, most of their DDR is listed as CAS2.5; only one module has CAS2.0, and i can't seem to find it at any online vendor.

Another question i have is... should i get 2 x 256 or 1 x 512?

thanx

Here's the best place to find out what CAS means: Just click here (http://www.corsairmicro.com/main/trg-cas.html)

Now remember if you have -12ns ram running at CAS2, it may be comparable to -6ns ram running at CAS3. Any gain you get in CAS is measured as a potential gain, not neccessarily fully realized.
