I think i just crushed my core on my t-bird 800, will it hurt to run it? or try to run it?

i was mounting my homemade waterblock and the wholes i made were to big so i made little washers out of copper wire, and that worked great for 2 of them, and on the others i guess it acted kinda like nuts that slipped and, the core is either crushed or chipped so what should i do?
im on a diff computer rite now.....

hmm how would a shim help.. i thought the core was the thing the hsf makes contact with?? am i wrong?? o and i did chip a 1.13 athlon that i ordered from a site... but i got SOOO lucky.. the site was about a 35 to 40 min drive.. took my board and chip with me... they tested it told me it was the chip and not the mobo and replaced it on the spot.. i did have to pay 15 for a restacking fee but better then another 100 bucks for a chip right??
