I would go by reviews and any brand preference you might have; most CD/DVD Burners are, more or less, the same.
Those LGs and these (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=34%2050001077%2040000005&Manufactory=1077&bop=And&SpeTabStoreType=4&CompareItemList=N82E16827151171%2CN82E16827151173) Samsung drives have great ratings, so whichever you pick will be a good choice.

Very good site. Heres the review (http://www.cdfreaks.com/reviews/LG-GH22LP20-Super-Multi-DVD-Writer-Review/)i found on the GH22LP20 (2nd with lightscribe)
What speed do i need to look at that will make the drive fast for installing games etc?

Well, if you want quiet, don't get a Lite-on. I've never had a single functional problem with my Lite-on drives, but everyone in the house will be very aware when you're reading/burning a disc.

seems they are pretty similar across the board. Ill prob pick the samsung or LG. My only concern is how fast i can install games with it.
I have used Liteon's for years and yes they are not the quietest drives. My current one has taken up the habit of being finicky about opening when you push the button. I am replacing it with the Samsung posted above. No real reason for the switch, just decided to try something else for a change. They are both great drives.
