It seems to me that big cases are losing their coolness. Im starting to see lots more small case mods. Personally i think Smaller is better

just don't let your girlfriend get in that frame of mind, might backfire on you! lol! I agree, the lesser sized cases do seem to be better to me.

And I prefer bigger cases. If your building a LAN machine that you plan on toteing to LAN parties, then a small one is great. But if you have something that you plan to use day in and day out you may just want to consider a Mid or Full Tower ATX.
My main rig is a Full Tower ATX, but my server is a Mid ATX and it's crammed with a CDRW and 7 hard drives. It really makes it a total pain in the butt to work in it.
Big cases have their places too.

I went from small to big and i will never go back.

Now that i have my antec sx1030.. i have a spare smaller case
and i am ready to go at it :)
since it was a cheap case, i dont care if i mess it up.
i wanna try and paint it and all, and see just what i can do for the littlest amount of money.
then again, these lil bits add up.

yeah i too have an antec and i like it. Im just saying that its soooooo cool when you see a powerful system put in an insanely small space. I really want to get one of those tiny shuttle barebones and see what there is to be done

Size does matter . Do not be temped my small cases! They have no room for fans, rads, etc... Oh and how many drives can you fit in your small case? I have 7 5.25", 2 floppy, and 4 internal hard drive bays. Not that I need them now but you never know when they may come in handy! Full ATX is the way to go. Who cares about trends.... try putting a watercooled pelt drink cooler in that mid ATX case!!! :burn: LONG LIVE THE BEHEMOTHS!!!

Bigger cases = more room to mod
Nothing like having 10 5.25" bays :D

True, but then you can build *out* instead of trying to fit it all inside...see my case under the top bulletin. Pics of my latest and greatest project to be posted within the month.
Bigger is Better. Your GirlFriend would agree to that!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

WOW! 10 bays! you beat me... where did you get that case! i thnik i'm in need or something a little bigger....
I am drooling over that case that Vash posted. It even has wheels! Small cases are cool, but when you go to change hardware, etc they will be harder to work with. I like plenty of room for airflow. I guess it is a bit like cars. You know the American cars from the 70's (before the energy crisis) with the huge hood space - compared to a Honda or Geo or whatever.

I got them through my wholesaler back in 1998 (Pentium II days!). I got one of the first models in the FS-910 series, instead of 80mm fans, mine features 4 60mm (3 rear, 1 in the front) and 1 120mm (In the front). It's hard to find the 910s anymore, but you can get their cousins, which actually feature 1 3.5" bay, unlike mine.
I like this case because as you can tell, it's housed every system I've ever owned from my Pentium II days all the way up to today.

i also think that it is better to buy a bigger case than a smaller case because you dont have to worry if the case will hold all your drives. with small cases you have to get rid of some things to make room for other things of you have to get external things witch may cost a lot than internal things also you cant fit more power supply's and fans. so i think that bigger cases are better than little ones.

bigger cases are just better...i had an inwin mid tower...there was no room to work around inside...i hate little cases...there so cramped...bigger is definately better..a lot more room to work with:beer:

Yeah, the Inwin's are cramped. My second system is in an Inwin mid. Dang is it hard to get at anything inside unless you remove the Mobo tray. Think it'll be one of my last mid cases. Got an Aopen mid for my water-cooling project, but I think that's the last mid for me. Starting to look at server cases now, but Mobo's that support the hot swap PSU's that come with the cases we sell are few, and far inbetween, let alone affordable. Time will tell...
I have to agree that Bigger Cases are better. I have one of my pc's in a mini ATX case(my LAN Party pc), and its a pain in the @$$ to get to anything...my Antec1040b is great...has plenty of room for modding, and you can get to anything on the board w/o having to remove everything...

hell i just tag along my pc-70 to LANs ...heh safely to say...im not the only one who brings a bigass tower to the LANs...one guy has a case and non of the parts are in it...its just a mobo and some xmas lights...the rest is layed out on the table...so weird..another guy has 7 hard drives...ha...well enough rambling...time to drink:beer: :D
For right now, my (http://human.home.dhs.org/computer/) case is serving me well. Maybe a few months down the road I'll pick up a nice full tower Aopen w/ a 350w Enermax.

I moved up from a mid tower to a full tower and I'm not going back.
One of these days I'm going to get a cube case.
*looks at SX1030*
she may be white on the outside but this huge mammajamma is all black inside!
Bigger is better!
more air = cooler temps and more mods!!!

my case 11bays (6 5.25, 5 3.5) 2 feet tall
and yes, big cases are where itz at..when you got hands that are like 9 inches long, you cant fint your hand in a 10 inch tall case
I had 3 mini towers,Thay sucked.I know now that a computer aint a computer till it is installed in a case 2 feet tall.Besides with a big case it looks like like a serious computer.lIn my other cases I could never get such a neat install of my hardware.

I only see 8 bays. Unless you're counting the internal HDD bays as well.
Bigger is indeed better!!, i love my lian-li PC-70, i retired my "midgit" cases years ago and have never gone back! i have had full towers since my 386 days!

I'm using a mid-tower, I thought it would be fun to mod, but I can barely fit anyhting in it... It's really hard to make it look clean. Now I wish I had a bigger case.
