Do you mean restoring files after permantly deleting? If so, when you empty your recycle bin, it technically doesn't delete the files. But more like make the space the file was using as free. So the files just have some weird character extensions. So as long as you don't write over the "deleted files" you can restore the files with some utilities like synmantec utilities... :D

Don't see how deleting cookies could affect your FAT. Have you done a scandisk? You might have an error reporting free disk space.

Do you have any antivirus programs running? They could be causing the problem... might not like the sudden change on the harddisk and think a virus did it.

The Fat error was reported by scandisk. Norton is
what i'm running as virus program. I ran the Norton
rescue disk (repair) and all is well. (I hope)

also....no virus found

:D See, FAT isn't always bad for your system
