Please help. I have installed Asus Cusl2-c boarde with piii 733 mhz cpu and 256mb of crucial ram. I had all working with win 98 except the bios would read my pci plug ins but os would not recognize any of them.. Modem , Video, and Audio are all on pci sloits. I unplugged the system and removed the pci cards and plugged the monitor into the onboard video slot. My intention was to format the hdd and reinstall the os and then plug in the pci cards one by one and see if the os would then recognize. When I turned the computer back on I have nothing on the monitor. Pitch black. Hdd runs but there is nothing there. I tried to plug the video on the pci back in and still nothing. Now I have no way to see anything abd dont know what to do. My video is an old STB Nitro 3d pci card. Please help

Did you enable the onboard video before trying to use it if you have that setting-jumper?
If you did then did you also disable it before trying your pci card again?

Best thing to try would be clearing the cmos.

I have it running in jumper free mode and I enabled the onboard video in the bios before i removed the pci cards. I could not change it back after that because I have nothing on the monitor.

How do I clear the CMOS

Look in your manual for the jumper it's usually near the battery.
Unplug the power cord to the pc then set the jumper to the clear position for about 30 seconds then put it back to the normal position.

Look in your manual for the Cmos jumper. Turn off the PC and pull the jumper for 30 seconds. Put it back and restart.

OK - I have unplugged. I removed the PCI cards and then I cleared the CMOS. Which on the Cusl2 is actually not a jumper but two solder points to short. I then powered on the computer with the monitor pugged into the onboard video. While pwering up I held the Del key as the manual tells to do to enter the bios and had some blue and black squiggly lines that then went to one green line across the bottom of the screen. The led is lit for the hdd working and I can hear that, but there is nothing on the screen.
